I'm back and working on some new projects. The latest new project is rebuilding my 1964 Fairlane 2 door post, and turning it into a Thunderbolt Clone. I actually owned and raced an original Thunderbolt between 1976 and 1981, but like everyone else in those days, I sold it for way less than it was worth. (Picture at the bottom)
1964 Fairlane 500:
This car has everything you would want in a clone. It has a perfect body, with all good chrome, four wheel Willwood 4 piston Disk Brakes, Huge tubs, with 15 inch wide rear wheels, and 18 inch wide tires. It has the complete Crites restoration front end package, and a four core aluminum radiator. I'm not sure which FE engine will end up in the car, but it will be backed up by a Full roller C4 Trans Brake transmission, 9 Inch Billet Converter (4500 Stall) and PA Bell housing. Ford 9 inch with 35 spline Moser Axles, and 4 inch Aluminum Drive Shaft.
428 Cobra Jet Engine: This Cobra Jet engine, is not your fathers CJ. It has A Scat 9000 Crank Shaft, Lemans Rods, Venola 10.5 Pistons,, a Chet Herbert Roller Cam, and lifters, Fully rollerized timing set, with Torrington thrust bearings,, a Precision Oil Pumps, blueprinted high volume pump, and billet shaft. Next I'll be installing a set of Ported Super CJ heads, with Dove HD roller rockers, and a Dove Single plane intake with Barry Grant 850 Carb.
