Racing is a collector of 60's era Ford
cars and parts. If you're looking for 289 or 427 Ford
Engines, and parts, or anything else for these cars, we either
have them, or know where to get them. It hasn't always been
that way, here is a little history of Fantom Racing Ent.
November 1979: Fantom Raceway and Games Opens it's doors. We were a small hobby shop, and Slot Car raceway in our current location. We have a Candy store for the local school kids, and we have just purchased a "Blue King" Slot car track from BIR racing in New Jersey, and we are adding a 580 square foot addition to our 3000 sq. ft. building to house the hobby shop portion, and give a little extra room for this Giant 155 foot long track. Buy 1981, This is the Worlds fastest Blue King Slot Car track, and is hosting up to 400 racers from all over the world on a monthly basis.. Ray started tinkering with his own motor designs, but Just Racing, and building motors locally was not enough, so the next step seemed logical. March 1982:
Fantom Racing purchases Pro Slot Mfg. and Check Point Mfg. and moves them from California to a brand new 2000 square foot section of our building. Ray Birmele and Dan DeBella develop a totally new kind of Slot Car motor know as The Cube. It's so unique, They have to make everything in house. The armature blank, the motor can, and even grid the magnets in house. Hundreds of them are made weekly, and It's not long before they are winning everything, including National and World Championships. Team Pro Slot becomes known world wide as the team to beat. February 1985: Creative differences cause Pro Slot to be sold back to it's original owner, Dan DeBella, who moves the operations to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Pro Slot is still one of the best know Slot Car companies in the world. March 1985:Looking for another challenge, Fantom Racing takes on the R/C industry, by starting to develop it's own motor design to take on the Japanese companies head to head. It's a long struggle to get the motor approved by the industry, but by 1990, Fantom Racing breaks through, and Top Qualifies at the US Oval Nationals, and takes Second Place in the fastest R/C oval race ever. It would seem that the struggle was over, but a lack of funding, and magnet design issues, makes the motor too expensive to compete.

Fantom Racing went on to win dozens of National Titles, and attracted Tony Neisenger, the winningest driver ever to the team. Together, they formed the first full time traveling team. Complete with several team drivers, a 28 foot enclosed computer lab, and a full time technician to test and tune motors for the team, as well as any local racers that used Fantom motors. The combination of Fantom Motors, and the teams driving, made this one of the toughest combinations to beat. It also forced the other factory teams to get out into the field, and support their local racers. Even with all this success, discouraged by what Ray sees as a failure to keep his motor design alive, the Fantom Motors division is sold to Jeff Schroeder, in 1995. Fantom Motors continues to thrive against all odds. October 1995: Ray Starts Cyber Solution Inc. A regional ISP with Dialup and Wireless Internet access covering 12,000 square miles of western Michigan. Seeing the demise of Dialup access on the horizon, Ray sells his stock in Cyber Solutions in February of 2002, and re opens Fantom Computer Systems as a full time Networking and computer repair business. March 2005 Fantom Racing, & Fantom Computers head into retirement as Ray decides It's time to slow down. We're still here, but only a few hours a day for now. Medical reasons have forced this temporary lul..
